Investigation process

If you believe that

  • your Mutual has breached the Code;
  • your concern does not involve a claim that you have suffered loss or detriment; and
  • you are not able to resolve your concern directly with the Mutual

you can report it to the CCC.

Any person may lodge a concern about an alleged breach of the Code to the CCC. This includes: representatives of government and consumer organisations, representatives of Mutuals, members and customers of Mutuals and other interested organisations and individuals.

We will then investigate the Code breach allegation (if it is within our jurisdiction), facilitate a negotiated resolution between you and your Mutual and make recommendations, if possible. If a negotiated solution is not reached, the CCC will make a determination according to our Constitution.

There is no cost to you for the services provided by the CCC and you can withdraw from the process at any time.
