How to allege a breach of the Code

The Code gives the Code Compliance Committee (CCC) the power to investigate and determine any allegation from any person that a Mutual has breached the Code in relation to a mutual banking service in Australia. It is useful for the CCC to receive general information about Mutual conduct even if there is insufficient information for the CCC to formally investigate the matter.

The ability to deal with specific breach allegations allows the CCC to investigate instances where compliance is alleged to be below the required standard and also to identify any potential issues that may be emerging across the industry.

The Code does not give the CCC the power to make orders for compensation, declarations on the rights and entitlements of parties or issue fines and penalties.

You can report a concern that a Mutual has breached the Code by:
